While our fragrances throw scent within minutes of lighting, you get the most out of candles once they develop a burn pool. For optimal performance burn your candle for at least an hour to achieve a pool that reaches the edges of the container.
Caring for your candle properly is essential to the longevity and burn quality.
Begin with ensuring wicks are trimmed to less than 1/4 inch but no shorter than 1/8 inch. When lit, your candle flame should resemble a teardrop. Within one hour your burn pool should reach the edge of the container. If it doesn’t, you have trimmed your wick too short. Distinguish flame and pour some of the liquid out, trim wick appropriately and relight.
Wicks should be trimmed every 3-4 hours of burning.
Any candle can smoke if the candle is not burning efficiently. Other brands of candles will smoke because of the petroleum levels in them. Our candles will not smoke if you trim the wicks per these instructions.
Some fragrances naturally change color in soy wax as they burn. Expect stronger fragrances to turn darker.
Judge the strength needed by the size of your room or desired atmosphere. Subtle fragrances and smaller containers work well in bathrooms and small areas. Our strongest fragrances in large containers will fill large rooms easily.
Always keep candles out of drafts and away from children and pets. Never leave candles burning unattended.
Your candle may require simple care. Use a paper towel or tissue to wipe clean any leftover residue between each burn. Simply use a spoon to scoop out any remaining wax and wick when candle has burned to within one inch of the bottom. Wash with soap and water.
There are many uses for your empty container; cotton balls, jewelry, hair pins, pet treats, spices, and many other small objects store nicely in these lovely containers. They also make great vases.
